In partnership with Fort Folly First Nation, IRIS Community Counselling and Consulting Inc. offered a half-day workshop including calming strategies, psycho-educational background, wellness kits, empowerment, and community support. This workshop has also been presented to other community groups and catered to the specific lens for each audience.
In partnership with Fort Folly First Nation, IRIS Community Counselling and Consulting Inc. offered a half-day workshop with a focus on psycho-education, mental fitness and physical fitness, self-motivation, self-direction, mindfulness, behaviour activation, and community support: in short, the four domains (spiritual, physical, social/emotional, and intellectual. This workshop can be adapted to meet specific community needs.
Recognizing triggers and mental fitness, participants are given an opportunity to discover calming techniques that are catered to their own strengths, based on a necessary psycho-educational framework of the mind/body connection.

Respectful listening and encouraging youth to use their voices intentionally to lead the way are also founding ideas. This workshop can be adapted to meet community needs.
In partnership with Fort Folly First Nation, IRIS Community Counselling and Consulting Inc. offered a half-day workshop to educate youth about the addictive potential of gaming, the ability to be ‘smarter than your brain’, coping strategies, and to make healthy and balanced lifestyle choices. This workshop can easily be adapted to a changing audience.
Youth who self-define as girls are welcome to experience the joy of learning about empowerment in a community of like-minded peers. Through interactive participation and self-reflection, youth are encouraged to celebrate and advocate for their own self-worth!
In partnership with Fort Folly First Nation, IRIS Community Counselling and Consulting Inc. offered a half-day workshop defining healthy relationships, including intentional meditation, healthy boundaries, emotional regulation, protective factors, relationship maps, and a beading calming tool. This workshop can be adapted to meet the community needs.
This workshop celebrates and encourages empathy, small acts of kindness, expressing gratitude, and showing appreciation for others within the community.
Participants are invited to ground themselves in a mindfulness practice by allowing themselves to explore being in the present moment, using a variety of techniques and practices.
Comparing a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, participants in this workshop are encouraged to reframe life’s struggles as opportunities for learning.
With an emphasis on the necessary pyscho-educational awareness of resilience and similarly celebrating participants' ability to 'bounce back' through life's challenges, this workshop encourages youth to activate, advocate, and participate in their own self-growth. This workshop can be formatted according to community needs: ongoing, half-day, full-day, etc.
